Skylight Creative is Still Strong

If you've been reading our blog lately, you already know from I95 Business Solutions that Skylight Creative is celebrating 40 years in business! To celebrate, we're giving you some insight into how we started and tips for maintaining a successful business from the groovy 70s to the 2,000's.

Owner and founder Bob Titelman Sr. started the business in 1977. Back then, the business was out of his home where he developed trusted relationships with distributors and partners to propel him into a successful business with locations in Bel Air, Towson and the Eastern Shore. As the digital world evolved, so did their business model. They began promoting their product list online with more than 750,000 products to date. And they're continuously adding more as the industry evolves!

Once business started booming, Bob Sr. made Skylight Creative into a family-owned business. He employed his daughter, Becky, in sales and Bob Jr. as a partner. There's never a dull moment in the promotional world and creativity is key. Bob Jr.'s first client was a drug company introducing a veterinary drug at a movie premier event. He found a way to microwave popcorn bags that when popped, revealed the company's logo in full color on the bag.

Creativity and Skylight Creative's business mind-set has kept them in business for 40 years. Their clients trust their expertise, branding knowledge and customer service. No matter what you need, they have a solution fit for your brand.

Now that you know the back story, here are a few tips from Skylight Creative for maintaining a successful business:
  • Build trusted relationships with vendors, customers, partners and employees from the beginning. Interact face to face and get to know them on a personal level.
  • Dress professionally, no matter the situation - it tells people you have something worthwhile to offer.
  • Understand your customer's market/audience in order to be a credible and strong partner.
  • Take care of your family, and personal health - if you aren't laughing or smiling it's time to reevaluate.
